The 15th edition of the Indian Premiere League starts on 26th March. Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, the finalists of the last season will be locking horns in the opening game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

IPL 2022 will feature total n74 matches including the playoffs and the final. Each team needs to play 14 matches in the league stage. The final match of the tournament will be played on 29th May.
Because of the addition of 10 teams this year, a mega auction took place ahead of IPL. Total 204 players were bought during this mega auction. Therefore, the different teams participating in the tournament have also witnessed several changes in their squads for IPL 2022.

IPL 2022 Venues
Because of safety measures considering Covid, IPL 2022 will only take place in Pune, Maharashtra and Navi Mumbai. In all these three locations, there are just 4 stadiums that will host the IPL matches. The stadiums are:
The IPL teams will be playing 4 matches each at Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium and 3 matches each at MCA International Stadium and Brabourne Stadium. Nevertheless, these stadiums will only be hosting the league matches. Venues for the playoffs are still to be decided.

The 10 teams participating in the tournament have been divided into two groups.
